Not every new business reaches the sky in few days, but the hard work definitely gives fruits. Apart from Bangalore, which is known to be a hub for startups, the startup from Delhi NCR is not behind in anything.

Just in 5 years, it has not only enhanced its business in India but also outside the country. Apart from India, it has expanded its hotels in Malaysia as well as Nepal.

It’s hard to believe that the person behind this is not any old or experienced personality but a very young entrepreneur (Ritesh Aggarwal) from a small town-Bisam, Orissa. The reason behind his success is his own belief in himself. He started his company at the very age of 18. The original name introduced was OravelStays, but it was renamed into OYO (On Your Own).

  1. Paytm:

‘ATM nahi Paytm kro’, a famous tag line going viral in the market. A payment company which launched in 2010, started its business as a mobile recharge site. This startup from Delhi NCR has now become the most useful application in mobiles. Starting from mobile recharge, it expanded its scope by adding other item for shopping like clothes, electronics, household items, and many more.

Paytm stands for ‘Pay Through Mobile’. Its success rate is described from its Chinese funding, from eCommerce company Alibaba. It’s the first Indian company which received funding from China, a big deal in itself. Apart from Indians, now Canadians are also able to get benefits from this app. Citizens of Canada can pay their utility bills with the help of Paytm.

Paytm Wallet is an easy approach for anyone who wants to transfer money to someone. In the initial stage, one can use up to 20K, but after the up-gradation, the limit extends to 1 Lac per month. The main benefit of using wallet is that, one is not bounded to use that money only for Paytm, but you can also transfer that amount in your bank account without facing any problem, without standing in long bank queues. After the demonetization period in the country, this app has gained a lot of popularity than before. This phase has proved to be beneficial for it. In 2017, it is soon going to open its own bank ‘PAYTM BANK’.

  1. Mobikwik:

Just like Paytm, it is also a mobile application which is a startup from Delhi NCR only, which allows customers to add money in the wallet and use it for further purchase or mobile recharge. It was launched in 2009 by Bipin Preet Singh and Upasana Taku. The initial investment was USD $250 K. The e-wallet system was introduced in 2012 with the help of online mechants, but initially, there was just a website with a closed wallet facility.

  • In 2013, it got license from RBI, which helped customers to buy good/items from third party vendors easily.
  • In 2014, the partnership was made with GoDaddy and other International companies. In 2015, it was claimed that the application was used by more than 15 million users.
  • In 2016, a lite version of the app was introduced specially for remote areas where there is low internet connectivity. The future plans estimate the increase in the number of users up to 150 million.

All these stories make us realize that it’s not compulsory to run with the crowd. It’s time to break the stereotype mentality. Believe in yourself. If you want to do a JOB, do it, there is no harm, but if you have the ability to make a new path on your own, don’t stop yourself.

Don’t expect any miracle to happen. Your hard work always pay you back. One can achieve something in a short span of time, whereas the other takes a long time, but that doesn’t mean you are a failure.
