Google Pixel was launched last year. With this, Google jumped into the competition of the smartphones. Now, it has come up with an upgrade in its own phone. Google Pixel 2 has been launched and is all set to hit the new levels of the technology. Google Pixel 2 XL and Pixel 2 are launched at the same time, the difference is of the size. Pixel 2 can be considered a smaller version of Pixel 2 XL.
If you talk about the appearance, on first look you might say that it resembles the Pixel and Pixel XL (initial smartphones launched by Google), but there are actually many changes on the internal as well as external sides.

Both the phones have a similar appearance and features. The only differences are the screen size, screen to body ratios and aspect ratios.

Screen and Visibility:
Talking about the screen, it has a slimmer groove on both sides of the screen, which was lacking in Google Pixel. Unlike Samsung Galaxy S8 or iPhone X, it doesn’t cover all the screen for display, rather, it has a chunk above and below the display.

But Google is offering unlimited free cloud storage for photos and videos at full resolution till 2021. After 2021, if you still want to enjoy the free services, the newly uploaded photos will be limited to 16MP while the video will be of 1080p. However, your previously saved data till 2021 won’t be compressed. Cheers to that!
The primary rear camera is of 12.2 MP with f/1.8 aperture camera, OIS, phase detection and laser auto-focus property combined with dual LED flash. it consists of multiple features such as 1/2.6″ sensor size combining with 1.4 µm pixel size. It provides the touch focus which focuses on a particular area, auto-face detection with geotagging to keep your memories fresh, HDR pictures for better resolution and panorama images as well.
The video capturing experience will be awesome with the ultra high quality of 2160p@30fps. It also supports the low-quality videos, in case, you don’t want to full the memory: 1080p@30/60/120fps; 720p@240fps.
It is having a feature of both OIS and EIS for video capturing.
The secondary front camera is 8 MP with f/2.4 aperture, 1/3.2″ sensor size, 1.4-micrometer pixel size and video recording of 1080p.
Turbocharging with a long battery life.
As compared to Samsung Galaxy S8, it having a smaller size but Google claims that its new phone is able to give you all day battery life. With just a charging of 15 minutes, it can run for 7 hours. This can make it the fastest charging phone present till date.
It is having 2,700mAh battery. It doesn’t support wireless charging like iPhone 8 or iPhone X, therefore, you have to stick to the wired charger with an old-school style.
Bluetooth and Headphones:
As it doesn’t have the headphones jack, you are forced to use either USB-C to 3.5 mm adapter or Bluetooth headphones.
It supports Bluetooth 5.0 like Samsung Galaxy S8. Google is planning to sell its own pair of wireless headphones and companies like Libratone is going to be the partners with the Google so that Google can market Google-certified headphones.
A totally new and latest feature of the Pixel 2 is the eSIM or electronic SIM card. Install your actual sim card on the phone. After completing the process for the Project Fi, you can remove the SIM card and Project Fi will create a virtual SIM card for your phone. This will provide you all the facilities which your original SIM card provides such as calling, messaging and other features.
Therefore, you need not worry about losing your SIM card or keeping it safe.
With the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, you get guaranteed software updates for the next 3 years. Hence, after Android Oreo, in 2018, Android P will be launched, in 2019, Android Q will be launched and in 2020, Android R will be launched. Google Pixel 2 will be able to get all of these updates as promised by the company.
